The City of Indian Harbour Beach will hold an election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, to fill Seats #1 and #2 for a three (3) year term. Seat #1 is currently held by Jim Nolan and Seat #2 is currently held by Bob Sharek. To qualify, a candidate must be a registered voter who has resided in the City of Indian Harbour Beach for at least one year prior to the date of qualifying. Candidates must submit signed nominating petitions with a minimum of 71 signatures from registered Indian Harbour Beach voters and submit a qualifying fee of $30. Candidates will file qualifying paperwork with the City Clerk during the qualifying period, which will start at noon on Thursday, August 3, 2023, and will end at noon on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
A person may announce their candidacy prior to official qualifying by meeting with the City Clerk and filing the Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository for Candidates form. Until this form has been filed, campaign funds may be collected or disbursed, or petitions signed. State law requires candidates for municipal office to comply with state regulations and accounting instructions for candidates and committees as set for in Florida Statutes.
